Liners

July 7, 2007 | performances, video

Images and videos from Zach Lieberman’s and Theo Watson’s liners performances at OFFF in Barcelona and Interactivos in Madrid are now up at http://openframeworks.cc/liners/.

Liners “seamlessly mixes together a large series of live and pre-recorded linear expression into a ceaseless, evolving, whimsical landscape, in which one line leads to the next. From a line of simple pixels, to a hand drawn line, to a horizon line, to a line of text, liners is not at all about getting to a final destination, but completely about the delight of traveling.”

I’m not sure if my contribution made it in time for the Barcelona and Madrid performances but it does flicker by in the liners screen saver

Pyongyang II

May 16, 2007 | film and video, performances, work

Twentynine thumbnail-sized pom-pom dancers cut out from a newspaper print of Gursky’s Pyongyang I and stop-motion animated on a sponge cloth.

I created this for Zach Lieberman’s and Theodore Watson’s performance for the opening night of OFFF BARCELONA 07. The performance is called ‘Liners’ and tells the story of a line that starts but never ends, using submitted videos and programmed graphics pieced together on the fly to form a continuous animation of a single line.
