Twentynine thumbnail-sized pom-pom dancers cut out from a newspaper print of Gursky’s Pyongyang I and stop-motion animated on a sponge cloth.
I created this for Zach Lieberman’s and Theodore Watson’s performance for the opening night of OFFF BARCELONA 07. The performance is called ‘Liners’ and tells the story of a line that starts but never ends, using submitted videos and programmed graphics pieced together on the fly to form a continuous animation of a single line.
I have volunteered for Flimmer and Norrkoping Film Festival since 2000 and worked as project leader for The Flimmer Open Air Cinema Tour since 2005. This year I was also responsible for the construction of the permanent open-air cinema screen in Norrköping.
Flimmer is South East Sweden’s biggest independent film organization and have been arranging open air cinema screenings since 1996. The screenings are organized together with local film studios, cinemas and municipalities. Last year 15 000 visitors enjoyed open air cinema att 22 locations. This summer we turned the tempo up a notch and arranged around 50 screenings at 40 locations plus one week of drive-in cinema in Gothenburg. Everything from locally produced shorts to Hollywood blockbusters were shown on a inflatable giant screen measuring 12 by 6 meters.
